joshdagreat56 Posted March 7, 2004 Report Share Posted March 7, 2004 I WAS JUST WANDERING IF ANY ONE KNEW OF WHERE I COULD GET SOME MORE NETS THE RIGHT SIDE IS GONE. ALSO I WAS WANDERING WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE STOOCK CARB TOPS. SOMEONE TOLD ME IT WAAS LIKE A REV LIMITER. ALSO ONE MORE QUESTION IN 1ST GEAR UP TO 5 TH MY SHEE RUNS GREA HOWEVER IN 6 TH IT SEMS TO BE RUNNING LEAN. I HAVE FMF FATTY AND A K&N , STOCK CARBS AND THE NEEDLES HAVE BEEN PUT IN THE MIDDLE. WANDERING IF MAYBE I SHOULD CHANGE PILOT OR MAIN JET. IT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT BECAUSE WHEN I PUT THE PIPES ON I HAD TO TAKE THE SNORKEL OFF AND DRILL SOME HOLES IN THE AIRBOX BECAUSE IT WAS LOADING UP. I'VE GOT THAT STRIAGHT NOW BUT 6 TH SEEMS LEAN. ALSO WHAT KIND OF MIX DO YOU GUYS USALLY RUN I'M USING A 40:1 RIGHT NOW. RIDING AT 0-1000 ABOVE SEA LEVEL. Holyman Posted March 7, 2004 Report Share Posted March 7, 2004 First of all, welcome to BHQ. Second, you should try to post the specific questions in the correct forum. To answer the stock carb top question, they are put there to prevent the throttle from sticking and the bike running away from you or over someone else. They have some switches in the carb tops and the parking brake perch and the thumb throttle that all work together to prevent the quad from speeding away.
