txblueshee Posted March 6, 2004 Report Share Posted March 6, 2004 My 'shee is under the knife right now and one of the parts going on is +2 a-arms.... I already have my front rims flipped. Is this going to be too much for my stock spindles?? Unless i'm mistaken having the rims flipped is the same thing as having a set of wider offset front rims. Any opinions?? PS. banshee04le Posted March 6, 2004 Report Share Posted March 6, 2004 Unless you are running flattrack or smooth sand...if there is such a thing, offset front rims suck because it moves the center of the tire out away from the hub. This gives leverage to every little bump and transmits them right to your handlebars...bump steer. I tried running them and knew in the first 5 minutes that the added stability did not warrant putting up with how shitty they made my bike feel...and I have a steering stabilizer. +2 arms are all you need IMO. Every racer I know who has raced a banshee gets a little parinoid about the spindles. That's not something you want to break..when they break it's usualy after you land from a big jump...not pretty.
