Alba Banshee

Recommended Posts

Hey,I am 14,and looking to buy a banshee and at this time of year my cash intake is at a low. I have 2000 saved and am selling my............03 250ex, my uncle got to chose an ATV for me and he tought i souldnt start out with a clutch <_< he got it for free, long long story. hopefully i can get about 3000-2800 for it, perfect condition, FMF exhaust pipe, and all that good stuff that is nessisary(hopefully my parents will chip in). so when i saw a banshee for 5999-not including tax and shiping, (luckily, i live halfway across the country in NJ) i went crazy because it has a pipe, toomey, air filter, TAG handle bars, jetting, graphics kit and seat cover. since i ride in the dunes i think most of this stuff is necissary. but my question is, do you know anyone who has this quad and how reliable is Alba. i cant see it being better or cheaper to buy one from a dealer. my next problem is that I am new to 2 strokes and i dont really know exacally how to service and maintain them. what exacally goes into owning a 2 stroke? how exacally do you mix oil, i dont really understand 32:1 , ect. these sound like stupid questions but i really have to know before i buy one. thanks

alba has there ups and downs, sounds like a good deal, 2 strokes require more time to take care of, but are worth it in the end, get a oil mixer and all ur mixing problems will be solved, its just how many ounces per gallon of gas,

Alba puts out good machines...but how do you ride in the dunes in NJ? You must travel alot. Anyways two strokes are pretty simple to maintain. The engines do wear out faster then a 4 strokes but they are simple compared to 4 strokes. Get yourself a ratio-rite mixing cup..it will save you time, trouble and effort. Then pick up a clymer or genuine yamaha banshee repair manual. Don't worry about mods for a while..wait till you start breaking stuff. I got my banshee used for a 1000 bucks when I was 16. I did general upkeep on it until I joined the military. Then I could afford to mod it out. I've had my banshee...the same one for close to 8 years now. I'll probly have it for the rest of my life. It's never let me down..well not for long anyways.

my friend just got rid of his 250ex about a week ago for 2700 and it was in mint condition. it was his gf bike. she rode 2 times b4 getting a banshee. but she still got 2700 out of it. it had razrs all around and a procircuit pipe. thats it. i think you may be able to get it if you really make the buyer think he or her wants it

You should just see about trading in the EX, at your local dealer. You're probably not going to get as much for it as you would selling it out right, but....

Hey isn't ALBA out of So Cal?????

(if so) By the time you pay shipping and what not, your probably better off just getting one locally.
