I just spray some WD40 on it once in a while. You could also grease it.

WD40 is a great temporary spray. But after a little while, it will promote moisture and cause things to tighten. The very best spray to use as a long term lube is Silicone Spray Lube. The kind I use is made by Loctite. It keeps moisture out and lube in.

I have a construction company and often times, people will call me regarding the barns i build and say they can't open the feed doors (it's a piano hinge). Well, they've been spraying WD40 in them and they loosen, but after a day or so, they become damn near unmovable, because moisture has gotten in there and locked it up. I will spray the silicone lube and they'll be perfect forever. I give them the spray bottle I take there so they can use it later. Great stuff.
