trail rider
I need some advice on building dirt jumps and some tips on jumping. The other day I built a nice little dirt ramp for my trail bikes and my 400EX. It is about 2 ft high and I usually hit it pretty fast (about 3rd or 4th gear). I dont get very high, only about 4 ft off the ground. But I land pretty far out, close to about 35 ft. How can I add on to it so that I can get higher without landing farther away? After I build it bigger I'm gonna make a landing ramp. What advice do you have for jumping a quad cause I suck at jumping on a four wheeler. I jumped the 35 feet on my honda crf 150. I really need some help cause on the EX I always either land to far on the back wheels or I nose dive and almost go over the handlebars (by the way, I'm hitting the jump in 3rd about half throttle)
lian
i find the shorter and higher you make the jump you will go higher and will go less far but i wouldnt think youd have to hit it in 4 wot
race450
Use that clay crap and wet the dirt and pad it down and you can also bend a piece of metal and make it solid over that. I did that for jumping my lt
ScreaminShee01
get old junk like broken washing machines and shit lay them down.. and pack dirt over them at a foundation...viola awesome stability
brugal
When you get to the lip of the ramp, flick the throttle, that will lift the front end some... NOTE:Giving gas lifts the front end the rear brake brings the front end down. So if you feel the front end lifting to much step on the back breaks some to even it out.. trail rider
To make it where you can go kinda fast do you need to make the takeoff/front end of the ramp longer if you make the top of it higher? I did find out on the last jump I built that if you make the front of the jump a little longer than the wheelbase of what your jumping it with than it makes it a whole lot easier.
