jonnyrebel2004
I would like to have my stock swingarm extended about 4 or 6in, who can do this for me and how much would it cost? Thanks Travis
"thenewguy"
i can do it. isnt it cheaper to just buy new one on a production line rather than custom like this? if your still interested let me know. hermitshell2@yahoo.com

"thenewguy"
damn thats a lot of money i was gonna do it for $50. i think it would be cheaper just to buy a new swing arm but not from that place 500+ for a custom swing arm, and 140 to have it extended. well i guess if you have that kinda money go for it. banshee04le
That $500 dollar swingarm is fully TIG welded chrome moly brother. Any body can MIG weld or stick weld some shit together my friend. No offense, but I think if you are going to go around offering to shorten and lengthen swingarms for people, like you have in your last couple of posts...while indicating that you have not actually done it before, you should at least divulge your level of welding training and experience for us. I know Tungsten would be glad to give you the TIG exam. Of course you don't need to TIG a mild steel stock arm but what kind of process was you thinking of using on these swingarms anyway? What size and AWS specification of electrode do you plan on using? What welding equipment (manufacturer and model) do you own? I know and service them all. Are you familiar with building a jig for swingarm modifications to insure proper alignment? I would be very curious of these things if I were to concider sending my swingarm to you for a hack job. "thenewguy"
banshee04le, we need people like to to keep people in check. lol. to answer a few questions. i was going to set up a jig, and use Vernier Calipers to get my measuements, and tig weld it with a 316 SS electrode. unless its regulag steel or aluminum id use a different electrode. im good at tig welding. i was going to weld it on the 450 amp Miller Delta, unless its unavailable then any of the other welders will do. im not a hacker, if some one sends me there swing arm ill show you, if you can tell me where i welded it the the job is free, lol, j/k. this is my bosses shop. if i ask him if i could stay after work to work on a little prodject, unless hes buissy he always says yes. Bickity bam, bitch goes down. heres his web site http://www.weldingcraftsmen.com/door/ ans long as its within .010 i think it will be ok
