Schizo
Blue Duece has a Passion stroker motor and a -2 swing arm, not sure how much dune riding or hill climbs he does though...
die_infidel
Whats the reasoning of negative inch swing arms. I was told once, but for got why someone would want a smaller than stock swing arm. Isn't it just for dirt racing? And how the hell do ya keep the front end down going smaller?
ledofthezep
When I installed my -2 arm I also installed +2+1 a-arms, the difference was night/day. Better handling, better acceleration, better balance in the air, just all around much better. I don't exactly know what my HP is, but it's far from stock, but not 85hp either. Granted, shee wheelies easier now...but still only when I want it to, it's not un-controllable at all. The only thing I can suggest is if you're 'iffy' about it, try & find someone brave enough to let you ride their's & make up your own opinion. I had never ridden one with a shortened arm before I installed mine and I have not regretted it at all. And I ride 90% dunes as of now. I'm going to be doing some MX also though. I have absolutely not one complaint, even when at the dunes. I can grab the holeshot like no other in the drags, shee hooks up well on both the dirt & sand, I'm running 20" 8 paddle strait cuts, similar to haulers but a little wider. InFlames
I like my +4 for all around use....Its ovbiously good for racing the hill and I tried jumping it and it felt normal in the air and you cant even feel the landing. I wouldnt go past a +4 for dunes and jumping though.
RNBRAD
Yea I ditto the +4's, cause I still like to jump. I think it maintains the overall best rideability while maintaining front end loft. Though you should be able to still wheelie with ease if you want. Also I noticed the +2+1 a-arms helps keep the front down a lot more than you would think. Negative swingarms places more weight directly over the rear tires allowing for more traction, such as leaning back with a regular or extended swingarm. lvracer36
+2 is great for dunes
Blue Duece
I'm going to try the -2 I have a lonestar round carrier and I'm building a -2 swingarm for it. Everyone here on the west coast frowns on it for the dunes but I'll find out for myself. Longer is the wrong way to go for my style of dune riding. 172644[/snapback] i think you'll dig it for dumont or glamis
jasonsb
I respect everyone's style and opinions...but if you are going to go longer on a swingarm, why spend your hard earned money for a swingarm that is only +2 longer than stock? (Aside from jumping) A +6 drags well, feels comfortable on dunes, and looks great!
ikikazz
because when crashing and the quad is fliping end over end the +2 is eiser to get away form less bike coming at you plus my buddie gave it to me because i broke my stocker in half from jumping alot
