Hiram Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 looking for some advise before I buy a set of rear tires, I mostly ride on gravel roads. Should I stay 20" or go down to 18" and which brand and style would not wieght/slow down the bike too much, so I will defently stay with 4ply instead of 6 ply for wieght reduction. I was looking at Holeshot, Rarz's, Kenda Claws, or Turf tammers need some opinions so feel free to speak your mind and experiences with any of the mentioned. ledofthezep Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 Out of the brands you mentioned, I can only speak for the razrs. Turf tamers work great on hardpack soil, MX conditions. I have the 6ply razrs and they're awesome, hook up great & have worn better than any other tires I've ever had. They've worn much better than the holeshots on my EX for sure. I've heard nothing but good things about the kenda claws either. I'd say go with a 20" just for the little extra clearance, but that's up to you. sredish Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 razrs hook up on the hard stuff/mx stuff as well as tamers or hshots, and hook up equally well on the loose stuff. great all around tire. for fronts, i like the maxxis front pro, great handling tire. superchicken Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 ive sworn by turf tamers on every quad ive had.they hook up great on just about every thing but sand.and they are a little cheaper if you have to buy new ones cause of a ocasional sharp rock or tree root.
