yamaha350
i run av gas. just have to check your jetting when you switch fuels. but you dont need the higher octain unless you run over 160 lbs of compression.
champ6966
will there be a noticeable increase in power/performance?
sredish
will there be a noticeable increase in power/performance? If your compression is around 160 or maybe a little less, you should run the race fuel, because of detonation problems. If you don't have that much compression, then you should just run the premium at the store. There isn't really any benefit if the compression's not there. I would never ever run anything lower than 91 octane. I run 93 from a local store in town, and 91 should be easy enough to find.
fixitrod
Like said before, it's funny how all non-banshee owners have the answers Anyway, all octane does is prevent pre-ignition if your compression is high or timing is way advanced. If you're running a stock bike or close to it, you will be wasting your money. Race fuel will most likely not provide any performance in that case. MRMOONEY
yes if you comression is above (my number is 150) you should run av gas, its 100LL and alot cheaper then race gas.

The top end is what determines compression... not the bottom end. Just check the compression and see where your at. My guess is if you ran 5 tanks through and haven't burnt it up.... you most likely fine !!

ledofthezep
I'm at 150lbs on each cyl. I've ran 91 oct for years now without any issues. I've ran 91/AV mix before also, noticed no difference in power but shee did get a little warmer than usual.
