SyNtAxx Posted February 22, 2004 Report Share Posted February 22, 2004 Sup guys, One of the cylinder bolts by the exhaust port snapped off flush with the case.... Now what do I do ? Bolt extractor ? Reverse drill bit ? I need some help please... My new ported cylinders are arriving Thurday and I was hoping tyo be able to use them How do I fix this problem Any help is greatly appreciated !! vmaxup Posted February 22, 2004 Report Share Posted February 22, 2004 use an easy out If no luck you can send them too a shop to have them burn it out with an edm. Another option is. Find out the thread size and look up what size the hole needs too be. start with a small bit. You have too be on center. then work your way up to the next size smaller than the chart size. you can the eather retap it or use a dental tool to pull the rest out. Just be carefull and take your time!!!! Then if you f$@^$@ it up you can get a Helicoil. I have some metric ones that are 8mm. I dont know if thats the size you need. If you need one let me know. SDD Posted February 23, 2004 Report Share Posted February 23, 2004 Number one thing to do is spray some WD on it and let it sit at least over night. Then take a dremel and cut a slot into the stud (try not to cut into the case). Now take a impact driver and give it one good hit. All you do is drill a hole in the center of the bolt, tap the square easy out in and grab the easy out with a wrench and start turning. If it were me, I'd pay a machine shop to do it. evil Posted February 23, 2004 Report Share Posted February 23, 2004 i did the dremel trick on a friends motor once. the hole is a little to small for a cut off wheel to get in there with out hitting the case so i took a small engraving bit and slowley put a groove in it so i could get a flat head scredriver it it and spin it out, like mentioned before the thing that made it easy was soaking it with wd 40 first.
