KHALIL
Hey all. im new to this forum . I wanted to know if anyone out ther know any tips to building ther own A-arms that they can share. i bend mine badly when i hit a tree. any one know what thickness to use? i was thinking about using the portion of the arm that connects to the frame and the portion that connects to the wheel, cutting off the rest in between and then welding new pipes in between. i also wanted to extend the lenght while im at it. any help will be greatly appreciated TIA
ruff_rida69
I would also like to know, it doen't seem like it would be all the hard, but I would have to start welding alot more and get alot better before I would even try it, I would just build the a-arms and go buy some replacment ball joints that srew in. Creole
Do you really think it is worth it? How are you gonna keep the metal from warping on you from the heat? I would say just buy some new ones and cut your losses.
locogato11283
it can be done. you prolly need some kind of jig to hold everything in place. you also need to take your time. make sure all welds penetrate both sides very well. you dont wanna be riding and break one due to weak welds. if you arent very skilled at any kind of metal fabricating i wouldnt even attempt it. you are gonna need to know how to use a torch, welder and other tools. its not worth building a weak a-arm and having it break when you land off a jump. evil
building a arms is a pain in the ass. its not as easy as it looks, i thought the same when i started my project, but theres alot of work involved in just the set up alone. as far as your add a tube mod, it can work but your better off just getting a set of longer arms instead of trying to fab the stockers.
