2004LEBanshee Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Why is it that when I got some air mods and pipes I was told to try and drop the needle? Dosen't that make it run more lean? Why wouldn't I want to raise it to get more gas to go with the more air. Also when you say 4th from bottom that is counting with the point of the needle faceing the ground right? So like second from the top of the flat end. Just trying to make sure thanks. Quote
Lepew Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 If you improved air flow move the needle up. That means move the clip towards the pointy end. You have the right idea in your head. This will richen the mid throttle. Don't forget about the mains also. If you try and contact who made your pipes they should be able to tell you what to jet it about with your mods. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted February 21, 2004 Author Report Posted February 21, 2004 So I should be 2nd notch from the point not the flat head. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Depends on mods......some pipes like a richer needle and others like to be leaner. Depends on where the power is designed for in the pipes. Also different reeds will make it run richer and about = to 1 clip position....thats why a lot of people will say how much better the reeds were, but in actuality, if they would have just moved the needles, they would have got the same results and saved $200..
