dnhyoung
Right now the Dunes are steep and you have to watch out for the razor backs. But by may things will have changed quite a bit. As for fees you will need a Northwest Forest Pass which is $5.00 a day or for an annual pass it's $30.00. Which are available at the staging area by the restrooms.(per vehicle) If you are interested, I know of a nice place that is for rent by the day/week that is pretty reasonable Sleeps 10 and is within riding distance. Or here is a link for the campground just at the entrance to the dunes... http://www.discoverypointresort.com/

dnhyoung
I've been riding the dunes for almost 5 years, and I've only been sound checked once(knock on wood!), and that's was just because they were doing some kind of a study to find out what type of mods with what type of pipes produced how many DB's. I've never been hassled by any of the rangers, but I also like to take a minute and B.S. with them if I see them out and about. That and not try to be too obnoxious in the parking lot. Lepew
They outlawed booze and nudity on the sand just recently.
