Ultimateduner Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I have been looking for a new set of pipes for my banshee for a while. When I was looking on ebay I found alot of different brands of drag pipes. I was wondering which one would be the best for me. I have a stock banshee with a kn airfilter and old school FMF top end pipes. ( I want a pipe that has alot of top end while not having the bottom end suffer.) The pipes I have now are good I can beat stock banshee s with DMC T-5 and FMF fatties. I ride in the dunes ONLY! So I need pipes that can dune. Quote
MRMOONEY Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 ILL BUY THOSE FMF OLD SCHOOL PIPES OFF YOU. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A SET FOR A LONG TIME. GOT A PIC? Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 get cpi's they are the BEST pipe oyu can get without getting one custom made for your motor. Quote
Oilsmoke Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 I have a dune only machine in the works now and I hashed over the problem of picking a pipe. My son machine & his best friend both have Inframe Cpi's and they flat out fly. So I diceide on Shearer Custom So I can Beat them. But i am not sure I can. But after all I ported them both, I just have to see whos Got the best setup. this is where the part combonations come into Play a major role. Reas11 You tested them yet? Quote

rocketman28 Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 Rocket pipes come on sooner and out rev all, no cuts, no leaks, i love em, cpi makes a decent pipe also! Quote
Ultimateduner Posted February 22, 2004 Author Report Posted February 22, 2004 Rocket pipes come on sooner and out rev all, no cuts, no leaks, i love em, cpi makes a decent pipe also! Do you have any dyno info? Quote
Big Blue Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 My friend has CPI's, so i bought shearer pipes to try something different and i heard good things about them. Quote
97redshee Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 i have a 4mm with duner port.mine made less power with the shearer by like 3 hp and the curve wasnt as good.the torque was a lil less with the sheare also.my builder said sometimes the shearer are a lil better and sometimes the cpi's are a lil better.but are ussually within a few hp of each other. Ultimateduner Posted February 24, 2004 Author Report Posted February 24, 2004 Why are LRD pipes so much more than the others? Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I like the look of the cpi out of frame pipes with silencers. I would go with either cpi or shear. I have t-5s right now and I was talking to rudy kurtz and he said that the cpi's will give me 5-8 more hp over my t-5 with porting. Quote
Ultimateduner Posted February 24, 2004 Author Report Posted February 24, 2004 I DON'T HAVE PORTING AND I WILL PROBALLY NOT GET IT FOR A LONG TIME! Thats why I need a drag pipe that works great with stock motors. Quote
Indubitably Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 T-5's are somewhat of a drag pipe for stock motors. I'll be gettin rid of mine in amonth or so if u want them. Quote
