sredish Posted February 18, 2004 Report Share Posted February 18, 2004 Well, I was just getting back from doing a plug check, went from a 185 main to a 190, and 50 pilot to a 52. I was putting the tools up and in walks my wife. She asks me to watch Cole for a minute (thats our 19 month old's name). Well, I say okay, thats fine. He loves the shee by the way. He was pushing the shee back and forth, he likes to roll things. He looks busy, I say and walk into the tool room for a very split second. BANG BANG BANG. What the hell? I run out to find him with my pounding my 1/2" ratchet onto the top of my rear fender. Needless to say, it's not too hard for a 1/2" ratchet to put some serious dings into soft plastic. What's the lesson here? Don't turn your back on a 19 month old, especially around your shee. I know, I don't worry about the plastic too much, because it's probably gonna get damaged anyway. Honestly, the dings in the fender are way worth his huge love for my banshee. When I ride up to the back of the house, he runs to the door (with a big window) and waves, or opens the door and runs out, begging for a ride. That's worth it. I take him for a ride to check the cows on it, or cruise to the other side of the ranch to check on other crap. He loves to ride it with me. Just thought I'd share that with you. I was in the garage getting everything ready for Glamis last week, and same thing except Taylor (thats my son's name) pics up my orange (he's learning his colors) snap-on dead-blow ball peen hammer (he's learning his tools too), I turn around in time to see him going from pounding on my peggs to getting ready to take a swing at my new Shearer pipes, lets just say the ninja reflexes kicked in and I saved them from the pending blow. Man my heart about hit the floor, he found it quite funny though, so did the wife "thats what you get for turning our son into a gear-head already" He likes going for rides on my bike too, he calls it the "broom broom" I feel your pain sredish. Scott and that my friend Scott is just the begining......good ol' Cole bless his heart will now leave your Snap-on metrics in the backyard to rust, oh and gladly adjust your carbs while your shee sits, a happy face on your quad in crayon is not far off and maybe if your lucky, will take your cordless drill(if you leave a 1/4 inch high speed metal bit in it) and drill a hole in a brand new 20" holeshot for you.....awwwww kids there the best..... DirtGrrl Posted February 19, 2004 Report Share Posted February 19, 2004 wow..im afraid to have kids now lol we keep thinking we want kids so we can teach them to ride..but besides that were just not sure. worst ive had is one my dogs (basset demons from hell..not at ALL the fat lazy trucker dogs I had thought they were supposed to be)..chewed up some renthal grips and one new front tire i had JUST bought.. We have a Basset also, he relentlessly chewed the water hose, the good part was he chewed it off about 3" away from the faucet so I just reinstalled the hose end...didn't take long to turn a 20' hose into a 5' hose. We used to say, aww, we're not really ready for kids, but if you wait, you might not ever be. I now know that, but I didn't then. The first 6 to 8 months can be kinda tough, but once they hit a year and start walkin, oh man, expect the unexpected. But my 35 year old brother, he'll never have kids, doesn't want them. Thats the way he his, and he should do what he feels is good for him. He does love our kid though, and kids in general, just not for him. THOSE are the kind of pics that make me want to have kids..seriously lol id LOVE to raise a little future banshee rider too damn cute! i fluctuate between wanting kids then as i get on my bike and think of all the time ill lose with it im afraid lol something will have to come before riding..i dont know when ill be prepared for that. sometimes i just want to live thru other peoples kids..but then i AM a woman..and that drive for kids sneaks up on me sometimes and scares the hell out of me!! oh and on the evil basset note..it doesnt get worse than having your mother in law over and hearing her say "ohh whats the dog chewing on?" all sweetly..and turning around to see your dog macking down on a sex toy in the yard..UGHH Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jcharne Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 i hear ya. my son's 19 months. took him for his first ride around the yard at about 7 months. probably for the last 10 months if i'm out there workin on the quad he's out there grabbing wrenches, hammers, rachets, whatever and banging on the quad. if i take him outside he runs right to the shed. i took him outside today in the snow and he was walking over there mumbling vroom, vroom, vroom. then he got pissed when i didn't unlock the shed. they are a blast that's for sure Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
