evil
you can use whatever filter you want on it as long as the filter opening matches the diamiter of the flange. dont put a filter that is bigger then the flange and crank it down to seal it, youll be asking for trouble. Tim C
The K&N filter flange has a bigger opening then the Pro Design one has.
evil
i didnt even know k&n made a flange but no matter what it is, as long as the filter has a good seal around it then its fine.
SICK BOY
I believe the Pro Design flange for the K&N is oval, and the Pro Design flange for the UNI is round. If they would work on ether,I don't think Pro Design would make two differant ones. fixitrod
I've been having trouble figuring out the whole filter thing too. Aint it a bitch. I've called shops and nobody can give a good answer on filter setups. You'd think somebody has tried these somewhere...lol
boonman
I am running an oval pro-design flange, with a UNI foam filter. works splendidly. and it is the only way to go with a stock airbox....
Turbo J
Sick Boy is right. I have the Pro Design K&N setup but ordered the replacement Pro Design foam filter, because I wanted to switch. Sure enough my new foam filter has a round opening and will not fit to my oval adaptor. I'm just gonna use the K&N with the foam outerwear...
Ducman
i just bought a pro design filter flange, yanno the billet one to bolt in your air box. and it says for use with a k&n filter. i have a k&n now but i am bidding on a UNI so i was just wondering if the flange will work with all kinds of filters (i think it will) or only k&n?thanks guys! If you can find out the circumference of the flange and/or the equivelent circular diameter of the K&N then you can compare the 2 filters. If you measure it yourself then you need to be exremely accurate because + 5mm on the circunference might still seal, - 5mm and it wont go on the flange. If you can measure the circunference (in mm) then divide it by 3.14 that will give you the radius. Next multiply the radius by 2 to get the diameter. Ask the guy what diameter the foam filter rubber coupler is (if it isn't so old it is stuck in a oval shape and wont relax and go round like when it came new). The other option is to buy a foam filter from a site that sells foam filters by the diameter of the rubber coupler opening, I know I've seen a couple. I'd just buy a new one (there like $20) if you cant get an accurate mesurement on the used one your trying to buy.
blk02banshee
My pro design flange came with a pro design foam filter, and it's oval.
prichard9966
the pro design flange accepts a clamp on air filter. if you buy the foam filter for the stock cage it won't work. k&n, uni, pro design, and twin air all make one that is designed for the flange.
