Ultimateduner Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Since November I have been tring to figure out just what these pipes are. I bought them sometime around thanksgiving, thinking that they were the fmf fattys. It turned out that they are old pipes. However these pipes are strange. Almost everyone I see at the dunes that has they has a dent under the pipe, in the same place as mine. I also found people with another old fmf pipe that has a different curve in the pipe. The way they perform is great though. So far I have out raced (drag raced) banshees with DMCs Fmf Fattys Toomey t-5s.The power of these pipes suprise me concidering the age of them. Does anyone have these pipes or know anything about them(when made, other performance info)? I paid $80 for mine. here is a picture of one on ebay.old pipe Quote
Nighty Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 They look alot like the pipes my mate has.. But we dont know the brand either We bought them as beeing fmf's but there is no name on the pipes.. i do know the pipes are REALLY fast.. like you said. he outraces my t5's these pipes pull really strong from midrange to top end. the toomeys rev out slightly higher. but it takes long. Ultimateduner Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 Anyone know how these pipes work against ssts? Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 those look like old fmf's. back when they didnt name them. we have a set on one of our bikes. they are pretty much the same as fattys. Quote
FoxBansheeRacing Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Yep, those are old school fmf's. Back then they made two different kinds of them, "woods" and "top end". Hearing your discription it sounds like you have the top end ones and the other bend type were the woods kind. Quote
Ultimateduner Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 If I raced someone with ssts on their banshee would I lose? Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 the pic on here is a pic of the woods pipe. the topend pipe doesnt have a bend in the belly. Quote
