I'm thinking of getting some different pipes. What I'd like to have is something with a bit more low end punch. I'm running old school FMF's now and they're okay, but I need to get spark arrestors and I'm not sure that these pipes will fit once I get an A arm conversion installed. So what kinds of pipes are out there that have low end, spark arrestors, and are preferably chrome? I'm not crazy about adding sparkies or the toomey hush kit. Both are pretty ugly. Also, I'd rather not get nickel plated pipes since the chrome just holds a shine so much better so that rules out the FMF's.

FMF makes a silencer called the Q. Its a quiet spark arrestor that supposed ot "retain optimum flow".

Should fit onto your pipes, or use it with the FMF SSTs, or Fatties if your budge isn't huge.

Originally I was gonna get the FMF turbine core silencers and use the pipes I have now. Maybe the pipes are pre-91 and they just aren't designed for an A arm banshee or maybe we're just paranoid. I was scoping the Dynoport 2 into 1 pipes but haven't found a picture of them. The pic on their website isn't loading for me. But it does say that they make a spark arrestor for the 2 into 1...

I've gotta motofast 2into1 pipe and its huge I don't think it would fit with a j to a conversion because its hard enough to get it on my j arm banshee. but I quess you wouldn't know unless you tired it or someone on here knows

Walrat. I have an 89 banshee that has FMF Gold series torque pipes on it that I bought in 1990. In 1998 I put a new A-arm Yamaha frame on it ands the pipes fit fine. These are the same as the fatties of today. In fact evrything from the origianl 89 fits on the new chasis just got to get new arms

They're kinda rare but the MF 2:1 comes in stainless. They take a decent shine but because the pipe is a little bigger than a pair of pipes, they may be a little difficult to fit with a spark arrestor.

Thats what I got a stainless steel one and it's pretty fat, I had a hard time getting it to fit because the tie rods and the steering stem where in the way but once you do get it on you've got like 1/2 an inch between the pipe and the tie rod, I've had it like 2 months but still have'nt got to try it out but I should be able to next week if I get a CDI.

f98ee4e4.jpg.thumb.jpg I have the gnarlys with pro circuit sparkarrestors. I like this setup alot, great low end and mid range with more on top than the 2into1. I had powercore2's before and lost no power when I installed the procircuits. although I had to weld 2 inches of pipe to the stingers to make them work. the procircuits have a nice bark (sound) to them.

Check FMF's site, I just saw an ad for some new silencers they have developed with internal spark arrestors, they're round like Pro Circuts or Toomeys.

I'd have to recomend the DMC 2-1 pipes, they sound awsome, bark outta the hole, and look cool as chit... me being a toomey guy I really think the top end leaves alot to be desired on the bike I rode with these pipes. It seemed to fall off kinda fast and not howl out more power higher in the upper revs like most other shees I've rode. I like the idea more of getting a 2-1 carb set up and bumpin compression up a notch to boost the low end, but I haven't got that far with my bike yet. Let us know how you like what you get.
