Premix Ratio

they way i look at it is the more revs your gona ride at the more lubrication your gona need. The more oil you use the more protection your engine has so therefore your engine will last longer. Personally i would not mix it any leaner than 32:1

Have any of you guy read a book called "Two Stroke Performance Tuning" by "A. Grahem Bell"? He has a good chapter on lubrication. He found no power gain by running leaner oil mixtures and proved that the scuffing on the pistons was dramatically increased. He recomends 20:1 for hi reving road racers and 24:1 for mx/enduro bikes.

I think I've seen some excerpts from that. Wasn't that written back in 79 or something?

The way I look at it is this. I use a premium quality oil that I feel does not reduce my reliability at all. Because I use less oil, I can save money and polute less. Some feel an improved performance by using less oil such as less plug fouling. In my book these are good reasons to reduce the premix ratio.

do you guys meen if i mix 1:32 that i wont loose my speed

would it smoke more??

Depends on the oil. All of this depends on the oil. An engine is an engine. The oil is smart.. not the engine. Manufacturers design the oil to protect at the ratios they suggest. Oils are much more complex than they use to be. They will become more complex as time goes on too. I run 32:1 with maxima tundra R... smokeless oil.. .whatever that means... lol
