bpreuss Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 hey guys im trying to get from about 10 to 30 degrees and i was wondering what mains, pilots, and what needle position. i live in south western mn and im not sure what the elevation is but ill try to find out. the mods are in the sig thanks Quote
bpreuss Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 i found a map and most of the places i ride will be around 1000 feet above sea level Quote
Banchetta Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Hey Brandon, start w/ 165 mains w/ the air box and no lid, middle clip position, 48 pilots....to start... Quote
bpreuss Posted February 16, 2004 Author Report Posted February 16, 2004 165 mains?! i looked on BenBB's jetting thing and i came up with 360 mains and 30 pilots. nothin for the needle tho. yesterday i rode it and did a plug chop and it was just barely on the rich side which is how i like it. Banchetta can you explain a little more plz? Quote
Banchetta Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Well, your showing pwk carbs in your sig.....Keihin carbs have a different jet size than Mikunis....Which carbs are you running??? Quote
bpreuss Posted February 16, 2004 Author Report Posted February 16, 2004 whoops, my bad, i had my friend type in my sig and ive never even looked at it that closely lol ill change that real quick Quote
brokemybanshee Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 My area is very similar, I'm running 340's, 27.5 pilots, needle in the middle, super high flow airbox basically like no airbox. Of course this is with stock carbs. Quote
bpreuss Posted February 17, 2004 Author Report Posted February 17, 2004 thanks for the input guys! i think its good im a little bit rich cuz its gonna get colder this week and i just built a table top outta snow so i should be fine with the jetting i got. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I'd go w/ 330 mains for winter and 300-310 for summer, 25-27.5 pilots, needle in the middle... Quote
bpreuss Posted February 17, 2004 Author Report Posted February 17, 2004 thanx Banchetta, i guess ill hafta go to the stealer and buy some more jets, i have so many that i dont know what to do with them. lol so you did end up buying new a arms huh? how are they working for you then? mine are working really good and now that i got all my shocks zps it rides like a dream Quote
Banchetta Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Glad to hear that, I was kinda worried when you said the rims were rubbing...My new arms are 2+2 and work really awesome. My tie rods hit my shocks when fully turned, but there isn't much I can do. Gary said that would be a problem since they are moved so far forward, but I still love em. I can hit jumps and steep hills in 3rd gear and never hit my front bumper anymore.... Thats a plus!!! Quote
bpreuss Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 haha ya that would be nice not to hit the bumper mine are working good tho, cant wait to hit my ramp Quote
