Jeffro
I see people running 8 inch all the way to 10 inch wheels on their paddles. I'm looking at buying 20X10X8 10 paddle haulers for my bike and wonder if there is a reason people go with the smaller wheels. Thanks
BenBB
I'm sure others can help more but since nobody else has posted I'll try: 10x8 rim instead or 10x10 would give you more sidewall; so if you jump alot there's a little less chance of bending a rim, also you can less air pressure to get a better bite off the line in a drag race (this may not apply so much with 20" tires as larger ones, but as speed increases the tire will "balloon" and keep getting traction). Also a 10x8 rim will cost a little less than a 10x10, but not a whole lot less. BTW are you sure you want 20" 10-paddles? Just curious, I run 20x10x10 8-paddles on mine and they work well for all-around, but if you've got the motor to pull 10 blades you might want to consider 21" or 22"... Leadfoot350
I would get 22-11-8 on as many paddles you need in extreme haulers. This is the best for drag racing and my friends enjoy it duning as well. With this set up you will gain more traction and it lifts the bike higher off the ground so when you jump hard or go up or down a steep dune you will not hit the chassis or motor case on the ground. I had 20-10-10's and I had this problem all the time and while at the hill racing I would get a really bad start and had to spend the whole race catching up. With these tires the skat trak mohawks look great up front and are the lightest front tires you can get.
yamaha350
the profile you get from an 8x8 rim is better than a 10x10. the more the tire balloons the better traction you will get. the faleeter the tire. like the 20x10x10, uses the edge of the paddle. where the 22x11x8 will be more round and dig into the sand better. in car terms it would be like using drag slicks over street radials. slicks are better. i would never go back to using 20x10x10.
