BdBanshee
That's the way the factory balances the stock flywheel. It looks like his flywheel was farther out of balance than most, thats why it has so many balance holes. Motor looks sweet!

SDD
Got1 make sure you tighten that countershaft sprocket nut lol. Jim why did you use a spacer plate? Did you not use racers choice pistons on this build? Were the cylinders ported previously?
PassionRE
SDD, I almost tightened that countershaft nut before I shipped the motor but thought Rick might find it easier to install the chain with the sprocket off....tighten that nut RICK! The 795 series pistons only compensate for the long rods, not the stroke. That plate is to compensate for the pistons protruding out the bore and allows for proper squish clearance. And no, those cylinders were unported and one was totally trashed and had to be re-sleeved. Cotton eye Joe, that is a one piece manifold from side to side with a built in crossover unvisible from the outside...really nice piece!!...I just love those manifolds...the best Ive seen and affordable too...with clamps and boots and bolts...$150.00!..Jim

Blue Duece
oh hey rick, (sorry for so many posts guys, but im as excited as got1 is, thats a fun motor to ride).....before you install your throttle you might want to get all the play out of the cable at your carbs, because your adjust at your throttle, is now your idle adjust, you'll be lucky if your idles on the carbs at the choke pulls work..i leave mine full clockwise(off) its nice to have a idle for warm up and putting around.......i have a twist and it has zero play in it so it will idle........ it took a while getting used to and is not for the timid over whoops, i kinda got a hair trigger you might say...........but its right at my thumb so i can back it in and then just keep tapping the gas to keep it running, for racing..... boonman
There's no idle adjust on them carbs? SOmething tells me I would be fashioning something in there. Get a factory carb shee idle kit and drill it in there......
Meat_Head
The choke knobs also serve as idle adjustments, if you were talking about the PJs that is.

Get a factory carb shee idle kit and drill it in there...... yeah they have idle adjust's you turn the choke pull counter clockwise, that wont make jims motor idle, i had to use my throttle adjust to slightly pull the slides up, i tried using the carb adjust......if jim reads this he knows why.....he told me it wouldnt want to idle from day one....
