Blue Duece Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 im at sea level, so im gonna go get new plugs tomorrow and try that out, do i need to chop the plugs or can i just look at em?? what kinda plugs are you running......and yes you have to hold it pinned, i use 4th gear, sixth on my bikes around 100mph a little to quick to be going up my street, but anyway pinn it for at least 5 seconds, pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch, coast to a stop, pull the plugs and see if there black brown or white.....i like to read them from the bottom of the cone, some guys read the tip.........if your bikes stock but for the k&N id start with stock settings and go from there and if your carbs arnt in sync that can kinda mess with your off idle throttle response, i allways like to check the simple easy stuff first, before i rebuild my bike.....on the mains some guys pull the choke halfway at WOT, looking for a rich or lean condition, banchetta and benb know tons about jetting and the different configs and basic settings, dirt and silt can get you scratching your head to, a slight air leak at the intake, baked reeds, glogged filter..... so get rid of all those varibles and you'll get it running good Quote
