banshee04le
My bike runs good when it is warm, but when it is cold I have like 0 throttle response. It always starts within 3 kicks and idles good. If I try to blip the throttle even just a little without letting it warm up AT LEAST a good 10 minutes it loads up...and does not rev up. If I blip it too much, it loads up and dies. wtf? Ever seen a movie where someone is being chased or something and they jump on a 2 stroke dirt bike and tear right the f#@k off LMFAO. I'm running 320 mains at about 900ft, stock pilots, stock needle position fmf fatty's, k&n w/rear of lid cut-off up to the clips and no snorkle, stock port, .030 head mod, ported stock reed cage, reed spacers (if that makes a difference), 40:1 50/50 race/pump w/belray hr-1 oil. All responders will be entered into a pool for a drawing to win a new kevlar powerband. By the way, I never ride it until I get good throttle response while warming it up. I don't TRY to tear right off, but I would just like to be able to rev it a little while it is warming up. Thanks.
2004LEBanshee
I hear ya. I let mine warm up for like five min or so, or until the engine is warm to touch. I get on it and it rides like shit for like 2 minutes.
banshee_rider95
When mine ran...lol.... banshee04le
Thats cool, sounds like it is normal...I feel better now...I can live with that. Thanks guys . If you don't receive your powerband in 4-6 weeks, one of the other 3 enteries must have won. Good luck.
Blue Duece
how cold is it? both my shee's fire up..... and as soon as i kill the choke they start revving fairly clean (although a dont put a load on them till warm i.e. go ride) do you recall how it ran with fresh plugs and a clean air cleaner? i know that my shee running castor 927 in this cold weather doesnt want to rev out till the goo from the oil is burnt off and she's hot.....i dont know just a thought, maybe your low speed jetting is a pinch off.....i wouldnt think the main would effect its off idle response....... banshee04le
Awwww shit Deuce! I was gonna pretend it was normal and learn to live with it...kind of like my old lady. I guess it started when I put on the k&n and got worse when it got cold (by the way, my bike always has fresh plugs and a clean air filter ). It has been in the 30's and 40's the last few times I have rode it. It will rev a little better if I go back to half choke but then it starts to load up there and so I go back to no choke, and it smooths out...but still won't rev clean for a good 10 minutes of idle time. I picked up some 27.5 pilots from the stealership but they sold me the wrong ones. I went back and they said they don't know...that should be them. Do you think that would help? If so I will go back with my stock pilot, so I can show them what I need. The kid behind the counter looked like he should have been in school and he was scratching through a bin of jets and shit...looking really confused . Dang it, I loose track of time when I am on here....nighty night.
.
yeah, up your pilot, you should get some better throttle response. It's pretty normal, when its cold like this. My shee I'll let it warm up for a good amount of time and then when i jump on it and ride it I gotta let it warm up some more or it'll break up when I get into powerband.
