troyminator
I am still in the process of tearing my case apart, but I don't know what size socket I need for the nut. I think that this is the water pump gear...still in the learning process of what all the parts are sorry. I have attached a word doc that has a picture of the nut. I borrowed the image from http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/clutchstator.htm If you have some helpful instructions for removal of this nut, I would appreciate that too. Thanks, T
Blacksmith
If you are talking about the water pump drive gear that is mounted on the end of the crankshaft, there is no reason to take it off unless you already have the crank out of the case. I don't remember for sure what size it is, but I think it is 21 or 22 mm. Good Luck.
troyminator
Blacksmith, Thanks for the reply! You may be correct on that note. I was just following the cylmers to split the cases and it said to remove that gear... I am at the step just after removing the clutch boss and clutch plates etc. I will analyze that tonight. Thanks again, T
SDD
If you have to remove this nut use a wire coat hanger between the clutch basket gear and the crank PTO gear. I think the nut is a 22mm but am not totally sure... it's been a few weeks since I pulled a motor.
