04Banshee
I am looking for a set of nerf bars for my 2004 Banshee. I want them in chrome or a polished finish. I like the idea of the having built in foot pegs like the ACs have but are they any good? What else should I consider? Thanks
blk02banshee
I have graydon prolines and I love them. I have them mounted along with Roll design/IMS footpegs. I also have a brand new set of AC standard nerfs(aluminum) with black nets that I am looking to sell. They bolt up to the stock pegs. nater006
I have the DG Alloy Series. They aren't polished or chromed but they work really well with the stock pegs. Just some good basic nerfs.
boonman
I have AC pro pegs. If you install them like they come from the factory, they suck ass. if you modify them to hold up properly, then you will bw all set...
sredish
I have the DG Alloy Series. They aren't polished or chromed but they work really well with the stock pegs. Just some good basic nerfs. Thats what I run also. Don't you just love how the bolt holes line up with the peg's holes?? I use a long crowbar and run it through the nerf from underneath and pry against the stock nerf mount to push it backwards and get one bolt threaded w/o the peg. Then I will thread the other bolt through the peg, and when thats threaded somewhat, I'll remove the first bolt and pivot the peg and reinstall the bolt with the peg in it. Then tighten. Oh boy, what fun. Overall, though, I like them. Just a bitch to get back on when removed.
04Banshee
Thanks everyone. blk02banshee- Did you have any fitment problems with the graydon prolines? boonman-What kind of modifications had to be done with the ACs? Blacksmith
I like the old style DG bars the best. They give you a lot of options for where and what style of pegs you run. I think they look the best when they are polished as well.
blk02banshee
blk02banshee- Did you have any fitment problems with the graydon prolines? They bolted right up . You have to drill the holes for where they mount to the pegs, though. Also have to drill a hole through each nerf bar, where they slip over the bar that clamps to the frame. It's not very hard to do. boonman
I cut the mounting ends off of the front mounts. (where it bolts to the engine mounts) and ran a piece of aluminum round stock across the bottom frame rails and u-bolted it in place. Works liek a champ.... Meat
I have graydon prolines and I love them. I have them mounted along with Roll design/IMS footpegs. Me too.......
blk02banshee
Mine look different than your's, meat. I must have the new design. The nets are web shaped, and thread into the bar itself, where yours have the little brackets welded on. I never noticed that before. Do you have the relocated pegs?
