Jason: I've been thinking about this for the last few days... Why dont you plan on meeting us that wed (3rd). Grab a hotel/room for the night and follow us out the next morning? Think about it....... after driving all those miles you will want a night to relax, get a full nights sleep and take a shower... Feeling fresh the next morning you can follow us to the dunes. Especially since there is no running water out there and all there is, is an outhouse for a bathroom... Think about it and let me know.. I can have my friend find me the name/# to a local hotel from him in Henderson. 24 days, 19 hours, 7 minutes, and 50 seconds left until ROOSTFEST 2004 Dumont............... banshee370
Sounds like an awesome idea.....set me up w/ a room.... Banchetta; Here is what my buddy gave me for info Walt, i would think the silverton is probably the best. it is away from the hustle and bustle and on the way to the duneshttp://www.silvertoncasino.com/ Tell them to lock the trailer and to lock the hitch and hitch pin. You just can't be to careful! but it is pretty safe and they do have security that goes through the parking lot. Let me know if there is anything else you need
BenBB
Little snag in the game plan guys, hope Fixitrod, Banchetta, and JKJK see this: 1. The Silverton Casino charges yer credit card when you make the reservation. I called and the best price we can get, $39 a room, is by making reservations online. No other discounts and they won't let me use the CC number just to make the reservation and then pay cash when we get there. 2. Wife-woman has informed me that I don't have the funds to book all 3 rooms right now, and I dunno if the rates will go up if I wait (I suspect they will). 3. No biggie, but I called and they said the trailers will hafta park across the street in their RV lot. Sooooo, unfortunately I can't book all 3 rooms. I SHOULD be able to reserve one of them after I get paid Friday. I don't really care if I get one or not, I can either sleep on the floor if we just get two rooms (and I can pay for one), or in my trailer if we just get one room (there's a 4-person limit to a room). Let me know if you guys want me to book the one room I can afford, or if someone else can get them reserved and I'll pay cash for one when I get there. fixitrod
BenBB, I'll take care of it. Need to know who want a smoking room and non-smoking room. I hate smoking rooms. Let me know.
BenBB
You sure Fixitrod? I can book one, just not three (can't piss her off until I pull out of the driveway on the way to Dumont). Nonsmoking is fine for me, and if you need a name for one of the rooms (the online form asked for a name for each room, that's as far as I went), use mine: Ben Boal. Or I can book one and you can do the other one or two, Banchetta or JKJK might could do the third one. Sorry about this, I know I said I could take care of it but this week was tough with my desert race and I came up a little short on cash... fixitrod
I'll get all three so they are together... hopefully. I'll use my name, yours and need one more. If you guys don't let me know what type of room you want, I'm gonna get all non-smoking so they might be close together. I'll have them reserved tomorrow night Fri 13th or this weekend. Let me know guys.
Banchetta
I'll take a non-smoking room. You can put my name if you want..Jason Labonte. If you need money Rod, let me know....Thanks guys, I've been busy as hell trying to get work caught up, since this drive will kill a lot of my time and days....I'm still rolling though!!!!! Justintoxicated
Hey guys, the date is coming close and I have a few questions I need answered to before I leave. 1) I have FMF Fattys, they do not have spark arrestors. I do not have money for spark arrestors. Can I still ride at dumont? What the hell is there to catch on fire anyways? 2) Coming from San Diego, what exit should I stop at to top off my tank in my truck. I only have a 15-20 gallon tank. 3) Fees, does my glamis permit I had to pay $90 for count for anything up in dumont? Do I need to pay a fee? 4) Jetting, what is the elevation at dumont? Thanks I sure Hope I can still make it and that I don't need spark arrestors.
Wallrat
Spark arrestors are required at Dumont but I went there without any and they didn't check mine. I think alot of people that are going don't have any and are just crossing their fingers. As with alot of places, if you don't give the rangers any trouble, they won't give you any. Hopefully anyway... Gas is pretty cheap in Norco, not sure on exit names. Jetting will be the same for Glamis. Dumont is about 300-800 feet above sea level. Temperature should be similar. There didn't used to be any fees for Dumont but they did implement a fee for Prez weekend and said that there will be fees for major weekends. For Roostfest, probably will be free.
