kotin6
I recently put FMF SST system on the shee. I have a K&N filter and my snorkel is removed. I orderd 30 and 32.5 pilots and 280,300,320,340 mains. Any sugestions on where I should start at when they all come in? I live at sealevel. And It is usaly about 60 degrees. spoin39
I would start at 280, I am guessing that since you said the snorkel was removed you are running a lid. Needle in the 3rd clip from bottom and keep the pilot. Don't make too many changes at once or you will have a time figuring out what is wrong. If it seems doggy on the bottom after the changes go up to a 27.5. Remember, do a plug reading after jetting to make sure it's burning good. kotin6
im still waiting on my jets. It sucks living over here when it comes to getting parts. And jsut as a warning to anyone reading this. NEVER deal with shaw hill or rage performance. I placed my orders in december and just recived one and still waiting on the other. I had to call them to find out that they didnt have jets in stock and it took shaw hill 2 weeks to even get them. what did they do to make it good to me?? Not a damn thing. I havent been able to ride yet this year.
sredish
Man, I think I'd start at 300 on the main. No offense spoin, but I personally think 280 might be a touch lean, I'd figure he'll end up at 290 or 285. My experience is squat, so don't listen to me, but its better to be a touch rich and back it off to perfect, than even hit it right on still back it off to a lean condition or hit it right on and richen it to see and end up where you started. Just my opinion. Scott
kotin6
i figure Ill start out changing nothing but the main to a 300. If thats to rich I ll try the 280 if thats to lean Ill put the 300 back in and use that till I order a 290 thanks
sredish
Remember to do your wide open throttle test, if that passes. I'd ride it the way you do normally and check it again. That will give a good real world test. You dont' always ride wot, but don't let it idle for 5 minutes after your riding and then check, cut it off while your riding and check. Ducman
I'd say you'll probably need to use the #30 pilots to get it to idle without going beyond 2.5 turns out on the air screws and I think that #300 mains is where you should start. You'll probably be just right with #300 mains or possibly #290. You should read about doing a plug chop for your WOT test on the Banshee Jetting FAQ http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html
kotin6
gotcha So when they do finaly come in Ill put the 30 pilots and the 300 mains in. put my carbs in and see how it goes. I should have got a 27.5 pilot and a 290 main i guess.
Ducman
You could always put a small hole in the back of the airbox lid and keep enlarging it untill the 300's come in if they turn out to be too rich. This would add a bit of HP too.
