jonnyrebel2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I am thinking about putting a water temperature gauge on my Banshee so I don't have to worry about it overheating. I was wondering if anyone has done this? I looked around the internet and found one from Fody MotorSports. I was wondering if anyone had used this product? It has a waterproof stainless steel gauge with a 1 inch round face with black numbers on a white background which measures readings between 0-220 degrees (F), accurate to within 1' degree and has an impact resistant plastic magnifying lens. The pre-assembled custom kit will splice into any 5/16-3/8" coolant hose. I thought it might not be bad for $30.95 with free shipping. The web site is http://www.fodymotorsports.com/atv/index.html If anyone had used this or used a different gauge please let my know what you think. Thanks-Travis Quote
bigboybanshee Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 30 bucks? You'd be getting ripped! You can make the exact same thing for a fraction of that price...I recommend if you do make one yourself to use the brass T's, after a long day of riding I melted the plastic one I originally was using... jonnyrebel2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Author Report Posted January 28, 2004 What size hose did you run from your T to your gauge? And how did you mount it on your Banshee? Thanks-Travis Quote
bigboybanshee Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 What size hose did you run from your T to your gauge? And how did you mount it on your Banshee? Thanks-Travis I can answer this for you once I get home...I'm at work right now and can't remember the exact specs...I believe the hose was 3\8" hose, and I mounted it in the exact same spot as pictured in the ad you posted. I haven't had time to put the new gauge on with the brass T, maybe I'll slap it on there tonight and I'll take pics of the process for you. It is REALLY easy and should only take about 20-30 min, given you have all the necessary parts... Travis (How ironic, we have the same name ) Quote
