spoin39
I don't have a denton but a muscle from magic racing. I imagine it mounts about the same, mine mounts on the front just behind the bumper where there is a cross brace with holes in it. And the other end goes around the steering shaft. bri98
That is how my Denton mounts also.I do not have pics but the bracket that goes on that crossbar behind the bumper should be positioned so the stabalizer comes over the top of the bracket NOT under, and the mount for the stering stem I have positioned on the right side of bike(when seated) If I remember corectly I only snuged the stem mount so I could turn the stem completely left to right to find a position where it would not bind, then tighten. I hope this helps.
demsy
this is what i came up with.. wont the adjustment knob hit the frame?? or do i have it wrong... also is the bottom part of your steering stem round or have edges?? banshee04le
Demsy you have a different looking adjustment knob than my Denton, but the same mounting hardware. Your front frame bracket installation is definitely correct. Like bri98 said, alignment at the stem clamp is what's critical. Your heim joints should not bind in any position that the bars are in, and if you are not careful with the installation, it will. Like bri98 said, install the stem clamp just slightly snug, take off all you dampening, and then turn the bars full left and then full right. one of the bar positions will have forced the stem clamp to move (unless you had it just right by chance). Now move the stem clamp a little more with your hand, to adjust out of this forced position. Now you are ready for up and down adjustment. This is what insures that your heim joints don't bind. When properly adjusted, the stabilizer will be very loose in any set bar position. So loose that you will think that this POS is gonna flop around and rattle...but it won't. Move the stabilizer valve body around while you turn the bars, and feel for tight spots. If you hit a tight spot, adjust up or down to correct. Mine took more adjustment time than I anticipated, but I could do it faster next time Don't forget to tighten that clamp now

demsy
ok,, those the clamp go all the way down on the stem or right above the where the round starts... in the pic the mount is just sitting there. if i install it where the round part begins it looks like it will hit the frame up front. do i need to frind the stem down a little, or what??? bpreuss
i bought a PEP steering dampner for a scrambler 400 because it is exactly the same for every bike except the mounts are different. It is the old style dampner. i am going to machine some new mounts and was just wondering how they mounted. anybody have any pics or know where i can get some?
