smartsshee22
Just got the new top end put all back together on my cousins bike and when we first fired it up the left cylinder would not fire. I pulled the plug and kicked it and it had compression, next checked spark....ouch...yup it has it..lol. So we decided to pull the carb thinking that something was in there. Pulled the bowl sprayed it and reinstalled and that cylinder worked. The next day, same thing...no fire. Why is this intermitent? Only seems to do it when cold. any suggestions, dont want to blow the new motor.

superchicken
maybe the needle valves stuck on the float?
Wassup350
I had the same problem with mine a while back. It is probably a worn out needle jet. Make sure that the needle seats into the slide good, and make sure that the c-clip is not too small or it will get pressed up. That's what mine did. Also make sure none of the jets are clogged. You might just want to take your pilots out and clean em out real good, you should be able to see through them. Make sure that you use the right screwdriver also, you dont want to strip the pilots as they are expensive...
SDD
Change the pilots to 30's, then make sure the air screws are turned out the same amount on both carbs. Make sure the carb idle screws are turned the same amount. Check the choke tube between carbs. Check for an air leak around the reed cage on the side that doesn't run well. willow2679
I have a similar problem when I rebuil my motor but was in full throttle. it misfires at that range, it was that the difuser where the main jet go was not tight pressed and the vibration makes the problem because it changes the carburetion
