Dragg-on
I know you can polish aliminium on a banshee by, sanding aluminium w/ 1500 grit sand paper and using a buffing wheel. Will it also work on aluminium 5 star rims? (on a car)
thecabinboy
dont car rims have a clearcoat over the aluminium?
Cotton eyed Joe
dont car rims have a clearcoat over the aluminium? Most do. You can sand it all off, then you will get to buff your rims every couple of weeks. Or more........
J..J.
I reckon you should try a small section on a non-visible part of the rim and see how it turns out. Either way you should re-coat it with clear coat once you're done. You're letting yourself in for a helluva lot of work and once you start, you're committed. Let us know how it turns out. evil
you could even try some dekote from eastwood first. it will eat the clear coat off without messing up the metal, then polish the crap out of them and take them down to a powder coat shop and have them shoot it with a 110 clear, just remember once the new coats on, you can see any spots you missed while polishing them. if you have the time and energy to do it, i applaude you. just remember what the other guys said. lots of work !!! later
