Other than that, have you changed anything, or has it always been like that. Stiffness in the thumb is normal when riding for a long time at a time. Dextreme Posted January 26, 2004 Report Share Posted January 26, 2004 If it seems to be stiffer than normal. Take the cover off the thumb throttle and inspect it for dirt/sand. There is a drainhole in there that allow crud to get in there and then ends up going down your cable. If there is lots of crud in there, remove your cables and douch with carb cleaner (or replace). H300F Posted February 8, 2004 Report Share Posted February 8, 2004 I took a dremel with a sand paper wheel or grinding stone to the outside edge of the spring from top to bottom to thin the spring out. some people also cut their springs down.
