NickyPap
I plan on gettin' ac pro peg nerfs and trashin' these so I figured Why not. Wish I had a pic before, they were scratched up and beginning to rust. Simply sand, clean (deglosser) and paint with 'Hammerite' hammered metal finish. I think it's ok for the time being. Nighty
Would that stuff be suitable for on a pipe?
dnhyoung
It's not near as quick and easy, but I attacked my heel guards with the Die grinder and shaved the ears off, then had them powdercoated. Just got them back yesterday....

Absolutely no offense intended, but they look like the stock paint to me, however new condition.
locogato11283
dnhyoung, you wont regret having the powdercoated. i had mine done about 5 months ago and they are holding up great. they get all kinds of abuse and have just a few small scratches on them. well worth the money. NickyPap
Hey Sredish, I wouldn't lie to you guys. NIGHTY: I wouldn't recommend it on your pipes, check into some high heat paints. Dnhyoung: really nice job, If I did that I'd def. keep 'em on.
dnhyoung
Would that stuff be suitable for on a pipe? If you want that look, then I would get them ceramic coated..
Nighty
Thanks dnhyoung! Ill see if i can find a company who does ceramic coating. What kind of shop does these kind of jobs?
dnhyoung
some powder coating shops do it, but don't let them fool you with saying that they use high temp powder coating, it's totally different, it's actually a glass based coating that applies like powder coating. you can read more about it here: http://www.nicindustries.com/
sredish
Hey Sredish, I wouldn't lie to you guys. Hey man, I didn't mean that I thought you were lying, I just meant that paint looks a lot like the stock piant, the hammered finish is pretty cool. No feelings were ever hurt here, I was just bored and felt like doing something silly w/ my camera.
