Blue Duece Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Hey Stan heres the pics i said id snap.....the gaurds on the left are Answer cheappies around 18 bucks, but work well, the black ones are the Troy Lee's they are killer cozy and you can take a baseball bat to the knee around 25 bucks.....the little ones on the right will fit a boot that doesnt support the shin part of the gaurd or work well if you are going to just go out in your jeans and sneekers for a quick trail ride...... Cotton eyed Joe Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 stan needs new knee pads ? LOL naw...... I kinda fucked up my knees when I wrecked my banshee a year and a half ago, when they took out the handle bars. The 2 things I wish I could have done different is BAILED OFF the damn bike, and had some decent shin/knee guards on. I can still lift heavy and everything, but I don't know if my knees can take a shock like jumping. At least not with stock shocks very well. I can afford knee guards (I think) but I can't get after market shocks yet. I guess I'll find out. Who knows, maybe I'll do ok. Quote

LMFAO I don't know how to crochet. My knees do great in the gym. I press 700 to 790 most leg days (shooting for an even 1000 one day) but I'm worried about the shock of landing a jump. I usually wear 2 or even 3 pairs of socks and that has helped in the past before I wrecked. I dont have riding boots or riding pants anymore, so what type of knee guards should I use? I'm not going to have the cash for new riding gear except probably the knee cups/guards. I could at least do that, and get the hi tech super moto shit later. Hell I got stock shocks. A long jump for me is around 15-20 feet in distance and maybe 4-5 feet in the air. When I get all this riding gear, I'm gonna look like some sort of giant cockroach. Quote

I'll get to check out some gear, and I think it will help me decide what to buy this summer. Quote
