mike250kx
I've got a 1990 banshee that I've just recintly bought. I've taken it on one ride sofar at Armagosa dunes. She's got a screamin top end, but weak on bottom. Also, the clutch is excessively hard to pull. No slipage noticed. I am going to replace the cable. I'm also considering a hinson basket & inner hub with either barrnet or EBC disks. Am I going too deep? Is there something I may be overlooking? Is there a simpler solotion to this clutch pull delema?
fixitrod
It proabably has an aftermarket clutch which came with aftermarket springs. If the cable is good.. which it may not be... you may just need to look into some lighter springs. Some people use 3 stock and 3 heavy duty springs. All that other stuff you want to buy will not help your trouble. If the basket is in good shape I wouldn't buy any of that stuff. I beleive duncan makes the lightest pull.. good gripping clutch kit out there. You may want to look into that if you are looking to spend the extra $$$. SDD
Don't overlook the lever and perch. As the perch and lever pivit point wear they tend to bind making the pull much harder. I'd put a new cable and lever/perch on first before messing with the clutch.
