15 Ft Sproket

Recommended Posts

Ok, I put on a 15 up front imediatly after I put on pipes, K&N, and jetted. I only rode it once and it was in packed snow. The problem is I think that i really had to wind out some gears like 5,6 or there was a bog. This might have to do with some bad traction but not sure. Now I ride mostly wide trails, open area, and occasionally drag in dirt. The drags are the reason i went to the 15. I was wondering if when I get a milled head, lightened flywheel, and +4 timeing if I will be able to run the 15 and lose the bog or will I have to go back to the 14? I really wasn't to happy the way it had to be wound out in upper gears before, but havent rode on dirt yet? Sorry about the long post. Any suggestions appreciated.

That what I thought but he said it wasnt running right at 360. I idles and ran good when I got it. Also this guy has done all my friend banshee's and one with fattys and some other mods has like 420's and it flys. I also had it at 250's with no snorkle and no other mods because it was backfireing at 240's. So it started at 250's when I gave it to him.

I bet you are to rich.... even at 35 deg. Hell even with the cut lid I bet you don't need anything over a 320 - 340 at 35 deg. Depending how cut the lid is.

Here's my guess. Needle on the fatties, at least mine before the stroker was on the fouth from the bottom. That's one lean.

I'm running a 15 tooth front sprocket and don't have any problems with bogging. All that's done to the engine is a set of T5's, Vito's clutch, K&N w/airbox and lid (no cuts), 290 mains/sea level....I ride mostly trails and I found that the bigger gear in front helps with fewer shifts and it stays in the powerband a little longer. I'd definitely lean towards jetting for your problem... :)

WIth the 14 on the road at my house I only got to 3 and no it flew. I would want to pullup and flip. I am thinking that since there was all snow on the ground I was was pealing a little then shifting early because I really wasn't used to the extended power band. Its much longer then the stock hit and shift. I don't know I guess I wait untill I get it back to gether to narrow it down if it still does it.

like fixitrod has been saying it sounds like you're rich on top. after the first time that i had ridden mine after i put SST's on it i put a 15 on the front. i'm with bigboybanshee, i feel the same as he does and all i do is ride in the woods.

I had a local shop do it

This my friend, is your first mistake. Do not take your shee to a local shop. Unless PassionRE is local, or GRR or Patriot? Anyways,

and it is 380 it was also like 35 when they did it
380 is wayyyyyyyyy rich. In the winter, 10 degrees out, Fatties, open lid, I was on 320 or 330 mains. Take that thing down a few notches. There is now way you need that much fuel. Unless your elevation is at negative 2,000 (-2000') feet. Even then, you may not need that much. What do the plugs look like?

Ok went to the jetting faq and added it up this is what I got give or take 1-2.

No Lid= 1-2 Mine is gutted and cut in the back with no snorkel

Pipes says 8 larger

no snorle 1-2 larger

K&N 4-6 larger

Timeing 0-1 larger

Cold temp 1-2 larger

Min 200+15on mains=350

Max 200+21 sizes = 410

I beliesve you guys, and I know you guys know what your talking about but how am I way off at 380. Am I doing this wrong.
