Fixing Frame

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you guys have any bends in your shee frame. I have two spots. 1 - is where the grab bar joins to the frame, it bent down.

2 - is the part of the frame infront of the gas tank, i rolled the shee hard one day and that whole part in front of the gas tank, alos the part where the top of the radiator connects to.

Well i was just wondering if you guys have any bends and what is the best way to fix these bends with out making the frame weak.

Thanks,

Jo

Not knowing what tools and facilities you have available you may not be able to do this, but when my bike was bent up I used a hydraulic jack and a short section of pipe to push things back into the correct place. I tied my frame down to a steel bench and pushed up to fix the grab bar area. I pushed from my swingarm mount to the top of the steering stem mount to fix that area. Good Luck.

the steering loop can be pushed back with a hydraulic jack. once you bend it back it will be very weak and can bend more even without rolling it again. it needs to be gusseted once bent. as forthe rear section, its not as serious. get a cheater bar and bend it back. i used a torch on mine, but this will make it a lot weaker. gussets are highly recommended.
