troyminator
I posted some information about some problems that I had with my bike.... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...15entry142613 Well I got the top end appart...right side piston (side that was smoking) is toast! It is majorly pitted...even the coolhead dome is toast Now I took the piston off, ring looks like it is damaged now, but doesn't look like it was the main culprit. Last night I took off the clutch cover gasket and I am 'bout to split the cases. Inside the clutch cover, there are ton's of metal flakes/debris. When I look at where the cam sticks out of the right side case, I can see that there is metal chewed up behind there...looks like it may be a bearing because of the little springs that I can see just sitting in there. Major Bummer! Well I am gonna be working on splitting the cases in the next couple days. I have been bagging all the parts with labels so I don't get too lost when I reassemble the stuff. I removed the clutch pressure plates, but now I have to get that nut off. I have the propper socket, but what is the best trick to get the nut off...the basket just wants to spin:) Somebody told me to use a impact wrench...do you see any problems with this? Then looking ahead, what do you guys use to put it back on? I will keep you informed of what I find T
fixitrod
Might as well put a stroker in there now
troyminator
Speaking of strokers... What are the benefits (besides fast) Are they reliable? Costs/Manufacturs? Fuel requirements? What are the downsides? Etc, Etc, Etc. As always BHQ Rocks! T
boonman
Use an impact to get that nut off. Then, send Jim at PassionRE a PM and get some pricing info from him on constructing you a stroker. You will need it ported, so decide on what type of riding you do, and converse with him. By the sound of things you explained, it looks as though the bearing went, and it was sucking tranny oil.... Tear the motor down, and get it back up and running. It's not tough... What are the downsides? Etc, Etc, Etc. As always BHQ Rocks! T Benefits are more torque and power throughout the powerband because you can pull more fuel and air. They are as reliable as a builder want to make them. If they don't go crazy porting, the can be as reliable as stock for the most part. Maybe even more so because you'll have the crank welded and the quality is higher. Cost, depends on the builder. Crank around $500. Wiseco makes a 4mm long rod. Benefit of the long rod is a little more reliability. There's less stress on the piston skirt. Benefit of the short rod... they are faster. I can't see the reliablility decreasing must at only 4mm though. I can see it at a 7mm. Porting depends.. anyware from $200 for matching up to 500-700 depending how much porting is done. Fuel requirements depends on porting, timing advance, and compression ratios. A builder can make them run on 93 pump gas no problem. Downsides... they are expensive to build. That's it.
