jonnyrebel2004
I just bought my first Banshee. It is a 2001, it has FMF Power Core II exhaust, a K&N air filter, and a boost bottle, as far as I know this is the only mods done to it. I plan to be riding on the sand down at the river and at Little Sahara State Park, Waynoka OK. I have rode there before on a utilty four wheeler, if I remember correctly there is not a lot of trash or rocks there. I have heard many different opions about what is the best sand paddle. I am looking for something that will hold up well and get a good bite. I have heard that slanted paddles dont help you turn, like they say they will. Is this true? Would something like a Skat Trak Hauler be best? I dont really know what I should get, since I have heard so many contradictory options. Any comments are welcome. got1banshee
This is a good question because I don't know what size tires to get. I am looking at 20s with 10 paddles or going with 22s with 12 paddles. Any help would be great. thanks guys!!!!
jonnyrebel2004
Yeah that is something else I forgot to ask. Givin what my bike has done to it, what size and how many paddles should I get?

ledofthezep
Hey man,...for your riding & where you'll be...I'd go to Jim's Sand Toyz in Waynoka the next time you go to Little Sahara & get you some paddles like what I got. I was going to get some 8 paddle extreme haulers & they talked me in to getting these instead...saved me a little over $100 compared to the skats & they are built awesome & perform just as well as the haulers. They're a bit wider, only have 8 paddle option--which would suit your banshee well. Here's a pic...Sand King's 'Turbo Paddles' Looking at around $160 for a set. Or if you want the name & have the money, the extreme haulers would suit you just as well.
jonnyrebel2004
Thanks Led. I have a few more questions. So you are saying that is should be around $160 for a set mounted on rims? That sounds pretty cheap to me. What size rims do they have and what size do you suggest? Thanks again Led.
ledofthezep
Yes, around $160 for a set mounted on Douglass aluminum wheels. They'll give you the option of an 8" or 10" wheel, I went with the 10's(I'd suggest 10's myself), they're 20" paddles.
jonnyrebel2004
I have heard some people of here say they had problems with their rims bending when they jumped on the dunes. Do you think I will have that problem if I get 10" wheels? Thanks Again
rzcolobanshee
If money is no option then go with the best, get 22x11x8 10 paddle extreme haulers
ledofthezep
I like to fly high & haven't had any problems. It is very possible though, the 8" rim may give a little better, but not a whole lot. They'll bend just like any other wheel. If you have the money & want the extra re-insurance, get you some re-enforced rears & have them mount the paddles for you. I'm not sure what they charge w/out wheels though. jonnyrebel2004
How do those Sand King's hold up, because where we ride at the river there is more trash and stuff (a few rocks, bottles, ect.), than at Little Sahara. I dont want to buy some and take them to the river and destroy them the first time I use them. I dont like to jump real high, mostly little jumps, so would you suggest an 8" or 10" rim? Thanks for all your help.
fixitrod
Here's an email I got from Jims sand toys "They only make King's Tires in a 20" with 8 paddles. They're $139.00 on 8" wheels and $159.00 on 10"."
jonnyrebel2004
Which rim size would be better for me?
ledofthezep
Probably the 10's--most people run them on banshees down there at LS...if you decide to get those paddles ask Jim about them & he'll help ya out. They hold up well, mine are in the same condition as they were when I bought them but I've only put about around 20hrs on them. They look like they'll hold up better than the skats would but I never had problems with my skats either. The paddles are molded in the tire & not glued on like the skats, but I think Skat may have changed their design a bit too.
jonnyrebel2004
Ok. I think that is all my questions for now. I would like to thank Led for all the help he has given me, it has really helped me out. Led you are the man! I will write back in if I have any more questions later on down the road. Thanks again!
