i wanna go but i have no place in the desert with a mx banshee :( , but ill go to boones for the drags sometime :P

Excuses Excuses. Just through some paddles on and ride.

No excuses. We are driving 30+ hours to get there. My quad isn't set up for anything. Hell, I'll still be running my shortened swingarm  and my wife will be on her stock Warrior. (both with paddles of course).

Evil, are you going to have the Ford there? I'd love to see it in action. B)

Excuses, excuses, I don't want to hear the labor pains, I just want to see the baby.....I'm driving almost 60 hours and hauling other peoples quads to help get them there also.....Are we Banshee owners or Honda owners?? :o I'm throwing my v-paddles on w/ -2 swingarm, midrange pipes, and knobby front tires...my friend is taking his brothers Warrior....Setup!!!! I'm climbing the faces!!! :D

I'm driving almost 60 hours

I thought that 30+ hours that we are driving is going to be insane :P:P I hope that seat is comfortable.

I'm throwing my v-paddles on w/ -2 swingarm

Really how bad is it riding in the sand with a shortened swingarm and paddles? If I remember right, Led actually likes it. I'm sure I won't win any races, but that won't have much to do with my swingarm. I'll only spend 10% of my time drag racing, the rest of the time I want to spend climbing the dunes and blasting through the desert. I really like the handling with the shorter swingarm and I would hate to add a longer swingarm to make 10% of my riding time better, if it is going to make the rest of the ride suffer.

By the way. This thread is also going to be 22 pages long by March.

Of course the seat is comfortable, its a Chevy!!!! :P

I ride w/ my -2 and v-paddles in the sand pits and do competition hill climbing. I love it, but Walter sais the sand is different in the dunes, so we'll see.......

UPDATE w/ directions

Here is a map Terry found.

http://www.sandbros.com/ridetrips/roostfest04/dumont.jpg

If you follow the blue line which is the road in. This blue line ends at

about the top of a hill you you will drive up. This hill is right after a

creek crossing. Once at the top of this hill you will be in a huge flat

area with dunes in front of you a couple miles out.

To get to camp (C5 in the grid on the map) you will need to continue on the

dirt road about 1.5 miles (from the top of the hill). The road makes a

slight turn to the left. When you see first bath on the left but second one

total as there is one on the right that's first turn left off the road.

We will be on the LEFT side of the road a few hundred yards. Look for my

small enclosed trailer with a RoostFest and K&K banner. (I am pretty sure I

still have a K&K banner from last year). These banners will be facing the road.

I am sure Terry can give more precise directions and maybe GPS coordinates

soon.

Here is a link to the official Dumont page:

http://www.ca.blm.gov/barstow/dumont.html

That info came from the email list. Hopefully we will have a better description soon.

Who wants to take bets that Banchetta wont wanna go home?
