Does anyone have any tips on modding a banshee for the woods> Power or handling wise anyhelp is appreciated thanks

You want a 2 into 1 pipe for extreme low end and tight trails or if you want twin pipes then stick w/ midrange pipes like Ptr mids or fmf sst's, as far as that -1 swingarm...skip it and go w/ -2" swingarm, it'll change the traction and handling characteristics dramatically and you won't regret it one bit...

Thanks for the replys, I don't really have alot of money to throw around right now but i have a -1 swing i can pick up, anything else handling wise?  Tire choices?

Shorten the stock swingarm, there is a lot of info on here about it and wont' cost much....cut and reweld the footpegs and move them back 2", or put Blaster foot pegs on. Shorten the shifter and brake lever 2" after....I like the Razor or Shredder tires the best for woods and pit riding....

yes yes all good ideas. it seems that me and banchetta go round and round about this but i would think that if ur runnin tight trails stock gearing may not be the best choice. i would say that def a low end pipe will work great. but think about how many times you are gonna hit 6th gear in the trails. if you are stock geared youll be in 1st and 2nd almost all the time. if you gear down you will have more of a range of gearing. youll have a really low gear, and 2nd and 3rd will be more manageable. if it were me i would give it a try. who knows, maybe banchetta will agree this time...oh yea, all that other shit you need too.

my 1st tip would be to mod yourself to riding a banshee in the woods. everyone sais the shee is not a woods machine, but if you adjust yourself to it as a rider 1st, then you will really notice the other mods come alive. i like my pc pipes, and pure sports bandits in the woods. the bandits work great no matter what you get into and clean out excellent, and wear very well too. i like stock gearing cuz gearing down makes 1st gear all but useless. but get your riding style down in the woods on the shee, then determine where your weak and strong points are, and go from there. and get some good brakes. extremely important if your goin rippin around the trees. honestly, ebc seems to work best for me.

I can see your point in certain situations like sometimes I'll go riding w/ my buddys which have 4x4's and guess where they take me...... Some of the mud holes i have to ride my clutch a lot and wish I had lower gears since we are doing less then 2 mph for 20 minute periods......but 10+mph trails, I'd still go w/ higher gearing...reason for it, is less wheel spin and you don't have to shift between corners....there is a lot of trails up my way where if you had stock gearing, then you'd just be running out of gear in 2nd and have to shift into 3rd, then hit the brakes, downshift, and go around another corner, vs. the taller gearing can keep pulling and just as I hit my peak rpms, I'm at the next corner slowing down....I guess it really depends on the conditions..
