i have ridden track on my banshee and i never got arm pump. i think it has a lot to do with the fact i ride a lot of hard trails. we will get going really fast and do that for about 30 mins without any stopping. i would say that u should go hit up some trails several times a week. that will get your arms in shape.

keep riding, even if you get arm pump, go slow during practice, drink lots of water too. the single carb set up really did loosen up the tension on the thumb throttle alot as well as a longer thumb throttle extension. something like this would help alot also, especially on a mx track.

another thing, the damn edit buttons broke, but try to stay loose, dont give the bars a death grip, keep a desent grip to maintain control but if you squeez the bars to hard you tend to tighten up and its killer on your arms.

Breathe, the blood need oxygen in it to keep from tightening up your arms, also drink water starting about 4 days before the race nothing but water it will help. Also do some kind of exersize to strenthen your hands and forearms.Good luck racing and PEACE BE THE JOURNEY

All the above are good advice, try taking a couple of aspirin an hour before the race, it thins the blood and lessens arm pump. I have also tried a sportscream on my forearms but did not work for me. Mainly breathe, loosen the grip, and try not to push 100% the entire race. I'm 31 and race mainly with 18-24 yr. olds, I am smarter about lines and anticipating their moves but they have more stamina. I have found that if I ride about 85% the first 3 laps I have some reserve left to push it at the end. Stay away from wieght training during the mx season, I talked to Tim Farr and Doug Gust at a race one day and they told me only work with wieghts during off time, you will be building muscle that requires more blood and oxygen. Goodluck!
