PonymanfiveO
My Banshee tires are bald to the point I cant make it up a wet hill. I am gonna buy a nice set of tires and a nice set of polished wheels too. Then I can keep my stockers for spares. I am tired of the Dunlop's getting holes in them. What tires do you guys run? what size? What is a good wheel? What size? I have herd good things from the Holeshot tires. any good? Thanks, Matt J. sandman121383
holeshots are good if u MX if u want a tire to last that hoks up really well go with pure sports bandits. i've only heard awesome stuff about them. i think pure sports makes the best and toughest tires.all depends on what kind of riding u do. i myself have a set of realtors on the back and they're more for mud and snow but damn does my shee climb fast with them things on! as far as rims go. spend the extra for reinforcement rings. i got a brand new set of ITP T-9's and a friend bent the inside wall somehow?!!?!? so go the extra mile for the extra strength whether u go with ITP or Douglas or something else...just my opinion
BenBB
What tires do you guys run? what size? Track/trails: 21x7x10 front Holeshots on ITP .190, 18x10x8 rear Holeshot MXR on Douglas .190 Dunes: 21x7x10 front Skat Trak Mohawks on Douglas .160, 20x10x10 8-paddle Hauler Extremes on Douglas .160 TT: 18x6x10 front American Racers on Douglas .125, 59x10x10 rear Hoosiers on Douglas .125 w/rings You asked... Like sandman said, you got alotta options on tires & wheels, alot depends on what you are gonna do; I like 18" rears for MX-type riding but for desert you're better off with 20" or even 22". Keep in mind that a different diameter will change your gearing, so you might need to change a sprocket or two to get the power where you want it. I like Holeshots for all-around, but I know there's other good tires out there, and maybe better ones for your particular application. locogato11283
i run 21 inch fast trekkers on the front and 20 inch fast trekkers on the rear. i like them. they are a cheap tire that hooks up really good in just about everything. stay off roads and shit and they wont wear too fast. i would just stay with a 9 inch rim. the ITP T-9 baja's are a good wheel at a lower cost. ive got them on the predator and havent bent them yet, and im pretty hard on them. like benbb said an 18 inch tire would be best for mx, but 20 inch for just about everything else. if you are riding sand you can go with a lighter weight rim (.125 and .160). but if you are riding trails and jumping and shit then i would def recommend .190 with a reinforcement ring (ITP T-9 baja) that way its really hard to bend the rim. spoin39
I've been sold on the Holeshot XCR's. I bought a set a few years ago and going to replce w/same this year. They hook up great and wear very good. I run 20x11x9 for play and 22x11x9 for GNCC, for the fronts I run 21x7x10 holeshots and for GNCC I use 23x7x10. .
Dont get bandits unless you still dont want to make it up a wet hill. The lugs are wayyyy to tight and all your gonna do is spin. I've tried a lot of tires in the 2 years that I've had my shee. I do a lot of dirt hillclimbing, trails, gravel road etc etc. Best 20" tires: Blackwaters, Razr2's Best 22" tire: Realtors - not a good every day tire. They sit up tall making you sit on the gas tank, arent good for powersliding (very unpredictable), and arent good for jumping unless your completely on the gas when you hit the jump. You let off your nosediving big time. They will go through anything though, and climb any hill. If you dont know what your getting yourself into....they're the tire to have. I've had holeshots, they're a decent tire, but when you wear the edges off they just want to spin. If you get a negative swingarm, this list is a whole new ballgame. I also have 21" mud sharks that are a pretty good tire, very soft though. Hook up great in the snow and deep mud.
PonymanfiveO
WoW! Thanks for all the oppinions fellas! Keep em comming. Here in Northern Kentucky, I usually ride trails and balls to the wall in fields. I dont really get into mud or sand. I have never really shopped for tires or wheels before, and I wanted to know what my options are, and some good pointers. A friend of mine put a big ass set of mud tires on a 400ex and then he complained about the performance...so I dont want to make the same mistake. Thanks for all the ideas and stuff! Matt J. Blacksmith
The tires that I like the best are the stock Dunlops that come on the Raptor. They are a much better tire that the stock Shee one. You can pick them up cheap off of e-bay. A good solid lug tire with a really open pattern. They hook up really well as far as forward bite. As they are a flat profile tire, they will slide very consistant, but they do lack a little as far as side bite.

MILO
i love my ps bandits. they are awsome in mud, trails, hill climbing, even if they are wet, and even in the pines. we have a few hill climbs in pine tree areas that get pretty slick sometimes. but they work great and wear very well. good for rocky trails with their tough sidewalls. great anywhere EXCEPT in wet grass in the yard. that's the only place they don't hook up real well, which is no big deal. otherwise, they've put my front end in the air in the worst conditions. i'm looking to get a set of ps's on the front in the spring. rebelbanshee2
for fronts i like 21" holeshots. Ive ridden shredders and razrs up front and like the holeshots better. Im running 20" holeshots on 10" wheels right not but want to switch to turf tamers on 9s as soon as they wear out. The holeshots seem to work really got on loose stuff, but my bros tamers seem to bike really good in hard stuff and grass
