Polaris Sled Flywheel Puller

Does anyone know where to get or how to make a flywheel puller for a 1990 indy 500. My cousin seized up his crank and we are gonna replace it but a flywheel puller is $45.00! He doesn't want to spend the money on that then $400 for a new crank.

Also, does anyone know where the best place to get a rebuilt crank is? Its not like the shee where they are all over the net. Thanks.

The Sled Shed

Als Snowmobile warehouse.

Those are two good part salvage places. The sled shed is about 40 minutes from me they have everything just about for old and new sleds. I got a complete indy 500 engine for like 800 from them. They rebuild anything rebuildable and sell em.

Als snowmobile warehouse has a good selection of parts too.

I suggest to you that you get the motor out, and take it on down to the local shop. Walk to the service department, (you may have to sneak past a few folks) and talk to a tech. Tell him you'll throw him $5 if he pops the flywheel off for you real quick. I have never had this fail in the past. Then, you pull up to the back door, bring the motor in, and they yank it off for you. $5 and 20 minutes. Can't beat it....
