STLbanshee Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I have a 2002 banshee and I have SSTs, and a K&N with outerware, and umi adaptor, and I was wondering if a 280 jets will work good, and not mess with the other one, where I have to take off the top of the carbs, I live in st louis. 00BANSHEE Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I used to run a similiar setup and if you running the airbox lid off and considering the cooler weather you probably need a little larger main. We were running the 280s for our summer jets. I am not sure of your elevation. We were at about 1400'. Quote
STLbanshee Posted January 18, 2004 Author Report Posted January 18, 2004 so what should I run in the winter then? Quote
spoin39 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 If it is about 30-40 degrees colder on the average I'd say 300. Also, do you mean the needle when you said other "jets" or the pilot? The needle might need to be raised a clip but the pilot should be OK for SST's. Quote
kotin6 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 I just put my pipes on and the quad wouldnt run right at all. I had 260s. I have 280s and 300s on order and also 32.5 and 35 pilots. Any idea what the best set up with my mods would be? any help is aprciated. 03 banshee fmf sst pipes fmf turbinecore 2 sst silencers k&n air filter WB boost bottle lisence plates (ohh yes) Quote
spoin39 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Kotin6: You will be way too rich with those pilots on the mods you had listed. If you need to go up on the pilot I would only go one size (27.5), even with my mods a 30 was a tad too rich. The mains are very close I would guess. SLTbanshee: I usually run a 320 in the winter and runs great, but I run the lid, I think you would be about the same, maybe a size up if no lid and if it doesn't get less than 40. About a jet size up for every 15-20 degrees. Quote
kotin6 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Thanks for the help. Im going to try it with just the larger mains first.here is a site that i thought was pretty good http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html Quote
