spoin39
You will be fine with the T6's, I had them on mine just a few weeks ago but had to switch back to the T5's, they worked great but I had a bad night of poker so I had to switch them back for my T5's. I traded with a friend awhile a go but he wanted them back after I owed him some $$$$$ after the game! Gamblers money ain't got no home! 04Banshee
Thanks a lot guys. Even though this thread kinda turned into what pipes I should buy, Im still wondering if there is anything else I can do to make noticable power without porting? I assume from the previous post there really isnt anything else. Thanks again.
Just for fun
Well actually there is a way to make noticable power without porting. On my 99 shee I just had the T-5's and Boysen reeds. Pretty fast, but not quite there yet. I put some Razrs on and man, it was VERY noticable. All the power/traction hit the ground, no spinning and it just took off. Of course after awhile this wasnt good enough so I added V-Force reeds, some improvment, not worth the 200 bucks in my opinion. Shortly afterward I installed a cool head with 20cc domes and ran 50/50 race gas/high test and it was very noticable. Again, this became routine so I just bought the below listed beast. My suggestion to you is get the top of the line pipe, now, because you WILL be getting it ported, trust me. I'm not trying to convice you on CPI's or anything, just a very good pipe on a stock bike and an outstanding pipe on a ported bike.
Justintoxicated
Go with CPI's and get porting later, you will eventually want it. I wish I had CPI's but Fattys arent too bad ported...I saw a dyno a while back and T6's were way behind with a ported shee, im not sure why addding a new head would make a difference to change from T6's to T5's either...what size domes are you going to be using with the NOSS head? Also make sure you get a new air filter and mod/remove the airbox lid or you won't see as much difference as you think! FMF's wre slightly ahead of the T5's, shearer and CPI's were int he lead, but I liked the results from the CPI's better. You can also advance your timing a few degrees to add a couple horsepower throughout the powerband AFTER you get your pipes and air filter. 04Banshee
I'm not sure what size domes I am going to use. I use pump gas 93 octane. For the air filter I am going to run Toomey 2:1 filter. Is there any negative effects to just advancing the timing? Thanks
Justintoxicated
int he case where your staying on pump gas I do not thik there will a great big difference in T5's vs T6's. They were probably assuming you were raising your compression. Ill let someone else answer the timing question, but I think it should only be done after pipes and filter, but I could be wrong.
