tats4life
Do any of you guys run two front stainless brake lines. I just installed my new lines last nite, and I can't get the calipers to fill up. I've always use the single line that goes into a tee. I can't figure out this double line shit...... I put the lines on and let them dangle over nite with fluid in the master cylinder trying to let gravity due it's job and that didn't work for shit. Everything worked fine before I took off all the old lines. Thanks in advance.
Blue Duece
mine i had to make sure they were lined up together, then had to just sit there and fill the resevour and pump the hell out of it it will flow, after you sqeeze it.... close the 8mm's at the caliper before the brake handle bottoms...you'll get it
Cotton eyed Joe
I just installed my rear line, and I will be doing the front stainless when my shit from Eastwood gets to my shop. In the past, I had problems bleeding the fronts, but DAYUM!!! look at how long they are. Start with the longest line Squeeze the lever. WAIT ABOUT 15 SECONDS. Release the 8mm check valve. WAIT ABOUT 15 SECONDS. Close the valve. Release the lever. Repeat. I tried it too quickly once, said to hell with it, and the next day my dad said "got those done for you" He just went real slow, as in keeping the lever pulled in longer before opening the check, leaving the check opened longer. He's had motorcycles since he was 13, and his way worked a hell of a lot better than my way did.
tats4life
Dunedemon told me to use a vacum pump on it and it makes sense, i wont have to bleed them again when I'm done. Hell I did my rear line in 10 minutes. I tried the slow and that shit still didn't work. Oh well, thanks for the replies fellas.
Blacksmith
It's really simple. Bleed your brakes by whatever method you want until you feel you have been at it twice as long as it should take. At that point, you have been at is half as long as it will take. Just keep at it. :-)
thecabinboy
Screw All that! go get a Mity-Vac ($30.00) or a cheap $4.oo bleeder kit from a auto-parts store. It creates suction at the nipple and it clean and way fast (2min tops) to do. When we put my friends rear on it took him like 2hrs of pumping getting nowhere. We got the tool and BAM done. I wouldn't do a brake-line any-other way now that I have seen the light.
Meat
hell yea, everyone should own a mity-vac. the brakes are perfectly bled in 60 seconds. It works so damn good. Only complaint I have about the mityvac is the catch bottle is too small. buy a mityvac today and thank me tomorrow

Im too cheap to get a mity-vac so i created suction at the nipple the old fashioned way...clear tube on it and keep on suckin until you do suck-ceed...
