New Two Strokes

Actually Bombardier does make their new Skidoo 2-stroke engines with fuel injection (600cc and 800cc twins). They have been putting these engines in their sleds for 2 or 3 years now. I think they refer to it as "2-tech SDI" They use Semi-Direct-Injection into the transfer ports and claim that it runs as clean as their 4-stroke 1000cc engine.....but 2-stroke power :D Reading on, they say there is no loss in power, actually a slight gain with fuel injection over carbs. It also meets the 2006 EPA specifications!!!

It's pretty cool that a company like Bombardier put forth the effort to inject a 2-stroke and make it run as clean as a 4-stroke without losing power. Wish some of the other big names did something like this instead of just dropping the 2-strokes <_<

here's a thought: injected 800cc twin tucked in a 'shee frame ;)

P.S. these engines have adjustable power valves!

yes they haave the pattern on the injection system it works with the oil injection and ski-doo/bomb has the pattern for it and is not sharring wiwth the other CO polaris anad artic-cat and with the envirmental laws getting more restrictive the 2 stroke sled is going to be gone soon . All the othter company,s have tried to copy it but, with out success the goverment may be stepping in . Ski-doo has some of the best minds on their payroll thats where polaris go their new reverse system for the new sleds I think its called perc it accullay stops engine for split second and reverses firing sequence to make engine run backwards .!!! pretty cool shit and no extra weight . Polaris bought the rights from ski-doo

Polaris is ready to unveil their own version of direct injection snowmobile engines wich they have been using in PWC engines for a couple of years now, their 2005 line up of sleds will feature a few two strokes direct injection engines. As for two strokes sleds being on the way out i wouldnt bet on it,at least not for long time.
