Wallrat
I agree with the suspension mods. Your banshee should have plenty of power to keep you happy for quite awhile. Later on down the road if you feel like its getting tame, then throw on something for power. If you keep doing that everytime you develope the skill to control the new power, eventually you'll have a powerful bike that handles well, and you know how to ride it. sheeweet
I used a jig saw with the longest blade I could find. It was very easy to control.Ok about the other mods. You can get things that will be needed in the future for a larger more powerfull motor such as rechamber your head, buy a new head(everyone on here will say noss head but trinity makes a nice one as well but cost more), if you can not use all 6 of your gears in the sand you can go to a 13 front sprocket, v-force reeds, timming plate, or you can just spend it all on suspension if you really think that the stock set up slowing you down. A +4 swing arm puts less weight on the rear tires so you need tires that will hook up better and the 22-11-8's have the most traction. I have a +6 swing arm and now need these tires. I am just rambling on here so I think I am done lol I think i have 21x11x10 paddles. But i still have the stock ones for dirt and they suck. Anyway, Leadfoot350, your latest suggestion is where I am leaning. I want to do up the front sus and also get some bolt ons for the motor and I want to get some bling bling too. Yes I know wallrat but a new head also gives some more bling factor, and i want to open up those water channels. You guys gave me good suggestions like handlebars and you are starting to talk me into shaving the fenders. They are still so new that i didn't want to do that yet. But a Banshee does look so much better when trimmed right. I think i'll do it soon. By the way wallrat your Avatar is awesome! Thanks guys!!!! mattmans1983
If ya want a little more power then just pull the gas tank, pull the head and cylinders, and for $100 buy the racelogic port template do-it-yourself and a set of new rings and port it. Then when your done, have cylinders honed ($35 ea. cylinder), put new rings on your pistons ($40), and then you'll have approximately $1290 left to spend on suspension. And if your close to needin a top end rebuild then spend $200 on vitos pistons and maybe another $15 for each cylinder to get bored. The porting is freakin wicked and if needed those pistons are freakin awesome too. In fifth it will pull a wheelie when you romp on it if your not sittin on the gas tank. I think you will like this setup.
silveradohd
Suspension. Best upgrade you could do, regardless of where you ride.
Justintoxicated
Do suspension and wait ntill you need a re-build to do the engine. I got Jim's porting and im really wishing I had suspension now, I ride mostly dunes like 90% and I can see whre suspension would be nice. When your doing 70+ on the road, and you can't see far enough ahead, some good shocks and would be nice insurance. Widening the Banshee would help to make it more stable when launching off the tops of the dunes and also when you fly off one because of that sand illusion of being flat. I hear a longer arm will also help you with the whoops a the bottem of the larger hills. I need one to keep the front end down. You can lean forward as much as you want but I bleep the throttle too much going up that razor back I'll surely flip myself over. I don't even have a stroker, just a fast prot job. just don't go too long on the swing arm or it will be hard to ride in the dunes. I went with porting because I needed to rebuild anyways, I was origionaly planning to get suspension. You can easily go over 1500 with just suspension mods.
